About Me
I was born in Nashville, TN, but raised in Manhattan until I was 9 years old. It was in New York that I spent my days climbing and playing in Central Park, and being surrounded by such rich film and theatre, my interest for acting began to grow. I moved back to Nashville when I was 10, and music began to take hold of me as well.
I lived in Nashville from 2nd grade all the way through high school. During these years, I honed my skills as a musician and discovered my passions. I am a self-taught guitarist of 18 years and enjoy playing every chance I get. In high school I played electric guitar in my school’s Jazz Band, played electric bass guitar in marching band, and was the Vice President of Youth Rotary Club. I also was a member of the Podcast Club, I performed in many theatrical productions, and performed competitively in our traveling Show Choir. After high school, I wanted to move to the East Coast to attend college.
I graduated from American University in Washington, DC, where I received my Bachelors Degree in Business & Entertainment with a focus in Acting and Audio Technology.
At AU, I held lead roles for many theatre department productions, found acting/performance work in the greater DC area, worked as a production assistant for the Harold & Sylvia Greenberg Theatre, and took many acting and voice lessons. I was even a summer orientation leader, leading over 250+ incoming students and their parents at a time through our onboarding program. As an actor, that job was the perfect opportunity to flex my public speaking skills.
I was also a member of AU’s all-male a cappella group, On a Sensual Note. This group performed professionally in the DC area and was often hired by local politicians to perform at their charity events or galas. I even performed at the DC Fringe Festival, was a Newsie for the night at the famous Newseum, and sang ‘Happy Birthday’ for Dr. Jane Goodall. In addition to the arts, I also rowed competitively for the AU Crew Team. It is safe to say that I adored my time in DC.
Since moving to LA, I have had so many wonderful experiences and opportunities. I am currently represented commercially by Bicoastal Management, and theatrically by Untamed Artists.
Outside of acting, I am a House & Melodic Techno DJ, and perform under the alias “MD Winzlo”. In LA, I have found my love of electronic dance music, and I have had the honor of performing at popular LA venues such as Los Globos, Catch One, Station 1640, The Godfrey, The Viceroy, the Little Friend, and more. I am also an experienced luxury craft-cocktail bartender/mixologist. I love to read, hike, kayak, do yoga, watch horror films, play boardgames and fantasy roleplaying games, travel, and visit every coffee shop I can find.
